This piece came to fruition from a strong desire I had since last spring to make a thistle piece. They grow wild outside my kitchen and they get extremely high. I was always drawn into them and wanted to incorporate them in my art, because a lot of my childhood memories have them in the background.
The spiny edges and small thorns discouraging the touch, but the beautiful flower calling you to reach for it.
Recently,a lot of you told me that thistle is the national emblem of Scotland, I didn't know but now I do. Thank you for reaching out to me and let me know about it 💜
